September 29: I’ve got questions…
In which, I take a page out of a 3-year old’s playbook and just keep asking seemingly unrelated questions one right after the other.
Can presidential campaigns get any more absurd?
What’s worse than a single president making absurdly out of touch PR stunts like visiting a picket line of people whose livelihoods his policies have negatively impacted? I’d say what’s more absurd is six potential presidents posing and posturing on a stage in an attempt to prove their worthiness.
Le sigh… is it any wonder public trust in government remains at historic lows?
Digging deeper, though:
President Biden appears to be doing everything he can to downplay an impending double hit of an impeachment inquiry and government shutdown. Currently, the known evidence against Biden that alleges he and his family have used their name and positions of public trust to enrich themselves is believed to be fairly thin. That was, at least, until this week when new information surfaced that implicates the Biden family allegedly selling their influence to Iranian agents. Let’s see, now that makes China, Ukraine, and Iran as being some of the bigger names on the Biden family’s alleged donor list. If the latest allegations are true, I’m not sure how that doesn’t amount to impeachment level, especially if we’re using the Trump standards. I mean, taking money from foreign agents certainly seems bad enough to get a Senator indicted.
In the GOP ring of this circus, the second primary debate once again saw Donald Trump not in attendance (he was too busy trolling President Biden in Detroit), leaving the six contestants… I mean, candidates… to try their best to separate themselves from the pack… without much success.
Can this presidential campaign get more absurd? Yes, it probably will.
