Biden is ready to “finish the job,” periodt!
I’m told that when the Gen-Z cool kids want to emphasize a thing they put a “t” on it. If there was any doubt about President Biden running for reelection to finish whatever it was that he started, well doubt no more. Biden is in to “finish the job” as his campaign slogan says.
For progressive supporters of Biden who have gotten restive with the administration’s setbacks and delays on issues from college debt to Supreme Court “reform,” the slogan may be an appeal to stick with Biden a little longer.
For conservative detractors, the question arises in both skeptical and fearful tones: “Finish whose job?” That Biden’s presidency has seen its share of policy misses, messes, and cross purposes has been well documented, and the infighting only appears to be continuing making his announcement seem more a tell of weakness than of strength.
So, can he do it? Biden’s approval ratings continue to be low with signs of the by now well established cracks in the Democrats’ coalition only getting clearer. However, if it’s a Trump vs. Biden rematch, the betting money still seems to see Biden winning round two.But that’s a big “if” in a GOP race that still has yet to get a clear word on DeSantis’ decision to run. The GOP aside, Biden may have a bigger opponent to face even in a race against Trump: his own record.
